Herpes Outbreaks

Will Herpes Ever Be Cured

Can we cure herpes? This is possibly one of the most frequent questions I’ve heard. Well first off, it is better to understand if you really have herpes or not and what it generally entails. Herpes is the general name given to a group of viruses that cause a periodical breakout of painful blisters and sores. Victims of herpes can either have:

• Herpes Zoster- shingles and chickenpox
• Herpes Simplex Virus type 1(HSV)-cold sores, blisters on the mouth and genitals.

The virus is passed on from one person to another during anal, vaginal or oral sex. It enters your body via a break in the skin.

There is a lot of debate on whether modern medicine can cure herpes. Well, one thing for sure is that the condition can be treated.

The sooner you find out that you have herpes, the easier the treatment will become. If you notice any painful blisters in your mouth or genital area, then that may be a sign of herpes. To be sure, your doctor will conduct a physical exam.
The physician may recommend the use of antiviral medications. These drugs may not necessarily cure herpes, but they relieve the symptoms of infection.

Do some nutrients cure herpes?

A change of diet can prevent the recurrence of an outbreak. You could switch to foods that boost the immune function of the body. However, that requires a lot of discipline. You would need to be faithful to your new diet and rarely skip a meal.

The upsurge of vital nutrients in your body will help keep the virus dormant for some time and hopefully cure herpes. Some ideal foods that could cure herpes include:

• Orange and red vegetables-They are rich in antioxidants that help in the skin healing process.
• Foods rich in L-lysine-The L-lysine amino acid stops the replication of the HSV virus. Such foods include chicken, turkey, vegetables, legumes, and fish.
• Zinc-It is an effective treatment for cold sores, helps the skin to rebuild itself and protects the body from viruses. It is not known if Zinc can fully cure herpes, but it prevents its recurrence.
• Lean protein-Protein as a bodybuilding nutrient helps in the body’s healing process. To cure herpes, you need to take about four ounces of lean protein per meal to heal those herpes sores.

In your quest to cure herpes, try to avoid foods that can lower your immunity and make herpes even worse. Avoid taking alcohol, added sugar, packaged or processed foods, acidic foods, wheat, and chocolate. If possible, eliminate them from your diet.

To cure herpes on your mouth, you can ask your physician to recommend some topical creams and tablets. Meanwhile, do not let the stigma surrounding the condition get to you. Just avoid touching the sores and sharing toothbrushes and utensils with other people. It will clear off in a few weeks.
